The Worlds Biggest Wind Turbine Generator

Called the Titan, this enormous wind turbine generator is the brain child of the European Union manufactured in Denmark.  Each blade is over 200 ft. long so the Titan wind turbine has a wing span/diameter of over 400 ft!  The tower rises to nearly 400 ft.  Which is proportionately correct for a wind turbine of this size which is to have distance between the ground and a blade to be equal to the diameter of the prop.  Capable of generating 5 megawatts this turbine is indeed a formidable opponent to natural gas or coal fired power plants.  Welcome to an age where US policy makers protect and promote archaic power sources like coal, oil, and natural gas, while the European Union leads the way for the rest of the world with ideas like the Titan.

The European Union Loves Wind Turbine Generated Power

Europe currently leads the United States by over 200% a year in new wind turbine generator installations.  The EU also has a grand total of over 35k megawatts of wind power being generated, compared to the weak 7k megawatts United States.  Each Titan would add 5 megawatts to the EU's grand total!  However the people of the United States are pushing towards alternate sources of energy regardless of how badly the United States government and the energy industry seems to ignore the very real, and very proven global warming problem.  Electricity, gas, and natural gas prices have been creeping up in recent years to compound the frustration of not being offered any energy alternatives .  In  2005 they really put the prices of the oil crisis of the 1970's to shame.  Factoring in inflation on the oil prices in the 1970's the price of gas in 2005 was still higher.  It's times like these that business minded and consumer minded people start thinking, and that's when we see the makings of change.  In the United States people are joining the energy revolution in droves by taking matters into their own hands and getting off the power grid without the support of the government.  Wind power is really taking off across the United States at an unprecedented rate, 2005 seemed to be the tipping point.   There's a huge new and insatiable demand from the American public and the world as a whole right now to steer away from dark energy sources like oil and coal, and to add wind instead of adding gas is the neo hydrogen mindset.
